Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul's love story

The Bollywood diva and the Indian cricketer tied the knot last year on January 23, after dating for about four years. It was in 2021 that the couple made their relationship official by appearing together on Ahan Shetty's debut movie.

It was an intimate wedding, with only close friends and family in attendance. The couple married in Suniel Shetty's luxury vacation home in Khandala, located amidst nature, thus giving magnificent views of uninterrupted greenery and picturesque nature.

In an old interview with Cosmopolitan, Athiya Shetty opened up about what made her fall in love with the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman. She mentioned that KL Rahul is a people's person and a far better conversationalist than her.

'We have very different personalities, and I believe that's what balances us out. However, our value system is very similar, and that's how we connected. There are days when I am feeling a certain way, and I don't have the energy to spell it out or make an effort to explain it well, and Rahul just understands what I'm going through. It comes naturally to him, and that's what is so special about him,' said the actress.

On the work front

When it comes to recent cricket developments, KL Rahul will be skipping the India vs. England 3rd Test match due to a severe quadriceps injury. He also missed the second test match as he was still recovering from the same injury.

However, the batsman was recently seen practicing in the nets and is expected to make a comeback soon.
