Aaliyah Kashyap and Ida Ali
Imagine enjoying a scenic holiday in a place often called `Heaven on Earth`, only for that very location to become the site of a horrific tragedy just days after you leave. This unsettling experience became a reality for Aaliyah Kashyap, daughter of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, and Ida Ali, daughter of director Imtiaz Ali. The close friends were vacationing together in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, merely two days before the deadly terror attack struck the popular tourist destination.
Aaliyah, who had travelled with her husband Shane Gregoire, shared her disbelief on her Instagram Story. "This is crazy; we were just here 2 days ago," she wrote. "Praying for all the victims, their families, and all the people affected. This is heartbreaking."
Ida Ali, who was vacationing with her boyfriend, Krish Agrawal, also expressed her sorrow. In a heartfelt post paying tribute to the victims, she wrote, “My heart goes out to all the victims and their families.”
The pair had ed their journey, sharing photos and even releasing a YouTube video capturing their experiences in the beautiful Kashmir valley, which Aaliyah had earlier described as `Heaven on Earth`. The stark contrast between their joyful visit and the subsequent violence highlights the unpredictable nature of such events.
