Animal Vs Sam Bahadur: Ranbir Kapoor Or Vicky Kaushal, Who Will Win This Bollywood Clash?

-

December 1 marked yet another monstrous Bollywood clash, with Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal releasing on the same day. Both of these have been the most anticipated movies, which has kept fans waiting with bated breath.

After teasing with trailers and snippets, the two films are already on their way to becoming yet another blockbuster in 2023.

While Animal is an action drama high on emotions, violence, heartbreak, love, obsession, and everything in between, Sam Bahadur promises yet another biopic that narrates the heroic story of a man who changed the face of the Indian army.

Despite the two films being poles apart, fans and critics are still comparing Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor to see who is the better actor. While both actors have given a tremendous performance, there will be only one winner emerging from this war of movies.

Let's see which film received a better response at the box office as well as from movie buffs.

Animal box office collection

With most of its show running housefull, especially in Delhi and Mumbai, the Ranbir Kapoor-Rashmika Mandanna starrer has already grossed over 20 crore via advance bookings.

As per a leading entertainment portal, Animal will collect about 60 crore across all languages on its very first day. Critics and trade analysts also anticipate a 100 crore worldwide opening for the movie.

It was the trailer for Animal that did most of the job. The father-son's complex relationship, Bobby Deol portraying the sensational antagonist, and Rashmika Mandanna's increidble performance made the movie receive a terrific response on its opening day.

Based on the real-life story of India's first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw, the movie created a stir as Vicky Kaushal and Meghna Gulzar reunited after the massive success of Raazi.

Vicky Kaushal's look in the film was uncanny, as he resembled Manekshaw. The film also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh as the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Sanya Malhotra, who plays Vicky's love interest.

In contrast to Animal, the biopic managed to collect around 1,03,192 advance bookings, amounting to 3.06 crore. A promising 6 crore collection is predicted for Sam Bahadur on its debut day in India.

The social media battle

No matter what the movie critics or trade analysts say, at the end of the day, it is fans who decide the ultimate winner of this big Bollywood clash. The social media is highly leaning towards Animal.

The credit for this goes to high-octane action sequences and a storyline that keeps the audience hooked. This has been a consistent factor in all the movie reviews on Twitter.

As for Sam Bahadur, people have called Vicky Kaushal the only shining star in the film. While the attempt to make yet another biopic on a real-life legend was ambitious, Meghna Gulzar missed out on keeping the audience hooked.

According to most of the Twitter reviews, movie buffs found the film too crowded and lacked deep-digging into Sam Manekshaw's accomplished life.
