Amitabh Bachchan shares an emotional anecdote as Sholay clocks 50 years
Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan continued greeting and welcoming his fans and well-wishers on a Sunday, a tradition he has been following for decades. In his recent blog, the actor revealed his recent meet and greet with his fans, spilt some personal thoughts, and also revealed a treasured collection — a ticket from his superhit film Sholay.
Big B uploaded a photo of himself waving and greeting his fans outside his Juhu home with a philosophical message about how a mind gets creative amid stillness.
“It is the silence of the hour when the awakening occurs... mysterious, is it not... the waking is the ideal for the late hour... Many theories exist on this, and two that stand out are the ability to hear what you write and the isolation in the presence of noise... Seemingly unendorsed opinion or expression, but strangely in the midst of cacophony, the creative or the mind that thinks excels... at times the best,” he wrote.
The Kalki 2898 AD actor further added, “Excess is a cess that is desired to be seized, else it absorbs the activities of mind and body and the senses... Disposing of utilities has been a learning experience for some... storing of utilities has been the learning for some... and what some accept and execute is the excess that stresses the mind and body... and the regret in the other is the pain of not doing the ‘do.’”
Amitabh Bachchan`s treasured Sholay ticket
Big B revealed one of his prized possessions—a movie ticket for his film Sholay—and revealed its price five decades ago. The iconic movie will have completed 50 years of its release on August 15.

The veteran actor wrote, "The Sholay ticket… kept and preserved, just defeated whatever has been expressed a few lines above... Rs 20!! the price…!!!!!?? I am told that is the price of an aerated drink in theatre halls nowadays... is that a fact?? So much to say, but say not... affection and love.”
However, that is not the current price of a soft drink in theatres. At multiplexes, it varies anywhere from Rs 180 to Rs 500.
This August marks five decades of Sholay, an iconic film released in 1975 that redefined Bollywood. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, the film also starred Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan, Amjad Khan, and Sanjeev Kumar in key roles.
