5 Goosebumps Inducing Dialogues from Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur

-

Sam Bahadur is running in theaters and is getting good reviews from all over for the engaging performance of Vicky Kaushal as well as the stage portrayal of Sam Manekshaw brought to life with rigor and honesty by Meghna Gulzar. It is a densely written film with some of the best lines for Sam, which Vicky Kaushal delivers with a natural feel.

Sam Bahadur also stars Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh. It was written by Meghna Gulzar along with Bhavani Iyer and Shantanu Shrivastava. The writing manages to bring Sam Manekshaw's powerful personality to the screen due to its dialogue.

Here are five goosebumps-inducing dialogues from Sam Bahadur:

1) Hum rahe ya na rahe, humari is vardi ka gaurav hamesha rahega.

It is somehow electrifyingly empowering to hear Vicky Kaushal deliver this dialogue as Sam Manekshaw. It speaks of the honor, sacrifice, and respect that come with wearing that uniform for your country. In fact, you feel something move within you because of the sheer magnitude of what this line means.

2) Amritsar ki paidaish, biwi bambai ki hai,
Delhi kaam karta hun, isse zyada Indian kya ho sakta hoon.

When told in the film by a colleague that he has been invited to serve in the Pakistani Army, Sam says this and wins our hearts. All of India resides in him, and he resides in all of India. Serving in the Indian Army was not even a decision he had to make he already knew he wanted to take the lead in protecting India from everything.

3) Soora so pehchaniye jo lade deen ke het,
Purja purja kat mare kabhu na chaddhe khet

This Gurubani has been included in the film, which speaks of the valor of a warrior. It translates to: He alone is the braveheart who fights for his people although he may get cut to pieces, he still won't leave the battlefield.

It is such a powerful piece that again brings forth the sacrifice of Sam and many more like him, who fearlessly fought against all odds.

4) Soldiers ki duty hai desh ki raksha ke liye dushman ki jaan lena

In a striking conversation with Indira Gandhi, Sam says this as a response to her when she says, "Soldiers ki duty hai apne desh ke liye apni jaan dena." Well, Sam has his own way of defining what the duty of the soldier is, and he doesn't hold back from speaking his heart and mind in front of the Prime Minister herself.

5) There will be no move at all Sam is here.

Again, a powerful moment that just defines the film and the staggering quality that Sam carries with himself. Its a proclamation that now Sam is here and the nation is in safe hands. No need to worry any more, as Sam is here.
