10 Years Of Sidharth Malhotra: SOTY Actor Misses Rishi Kapoor, Relives Lovely Fond Memories With Him

After completing a decade in Bollywood, Sidharth Malhotra recalls his good old days of shooting for his debut film Student Of The Year. A Karan Johar directorial, Sidharth played a dedicated and ambitious student who further went on to become a successful investment banker. Playing Alia Bhatt`s love interest, the movie also marked Varun Dhawan and the actress`s first Bollywood film.
In an interview while talking about Sidharth Malhotra completing a decade in Bollywood, he was shown a throwback picture with his Student Of The Year co-star Rishi Kapoor. The two even worked together in Kapoor & Sons.
Revisiting some old memories with the veteran actor, the Malhotra smiled and said, “Lovely. This is our late Mr. Rishi Kapoor. And in Kapoor And Sons and this is Coonoor that we shot Kapoor And Sons. This is his birthday party that we are shooting. Again I think this is the most fun I had with actors around. This is my fourth or fifth film where I was still the junior most actor on the set. All of them were just so great in front of the camera that I have to up my game and just be part of it. It was mostly theatrical because we used to rehearse things. We were all in one house and (had) so much to learn and improvise. This was me being the youngest in the family and being goofy, partying somewhat like how it would be my Delhi house. And this is Rishi’s sir after hours of makeup. Of course lovely fond memories. He was in my first film as well. He was part of the Student of the year. If he was here then we all will be celebrating 10 years. Amazing memory with Shakun Batra and the whole cast and team of Kapoor and Sons.”
Coming back to Student Of The Year, the romantic-drama was directed by Karan Johar and banked by Dharma Productions. The movie launched today`s three superstars - Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra. While the first part of the movie garneed positive reaction, Student Of The Year failed to impress the audience.
Speaking of his personal life, the Shershaah actor who is dating his co-star Kiara Advani, is soon planning to tying a knot with her. Despite dating for years, the two have been tight-lipped about their affair. On the work front, Sidharth Malhotra will be seen next in Thank God alongside Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh.
