The internet was shaken today after learning about Elon Musk's appalling move of removing blue verification ticks from many prominent celebrities' Twitter profiles. This comes after the American entrepreneur and current Twitter runner made having the blue tick a paid activity, thus making the verification process open to anyone. Several Indian celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Vir Das, Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Alia Bhatt among others lost the blue tick from their Twitter handles.

Amidst this, Indian film actors reacted to Elon Musk's bizarre move by taking it to Twitter and expressing their views on the same. While Vir Das went all sarcastic with his tweet, Amitabh Bachchan pointed out he has paid for having a verified profile. Let's see which other celebrities reacted to losing blue ticks from their profile.

1. Prakash Raj

The Ponniyin Selvan actor took to Twitter and expressed how least bothered he is with or without having a verified profile. All that matters to him is his fans who religiously read and interact with the thoughts he pens down on social media.

'Bye bye #BlueTick It was nice having you, my journey, my conversations, my sharing, will continue with my people, you take care #justasking (sic),' wrote Prakash Raj.

2. Nargis Fakhri

The Rockstar actress was never really fond of Twitter. Reacting to losing the blue tick, Nargis wrote, 'I never really come on here. I just noticed I'm no longer verified with that blue thingy. So now everyone with a blue check pays a fee for it. Hmm okay. if anyone can buy it then what's the point (sic).'

3. Sophie Choudry

Considering herself a privileged one, Sophie had a rather interesting perspective on Elon Musk's move. Her tweet read, 'Blue tick gone for @SrBachchan @sachin_rt @BeingSalmanKhan and many many more. Looks like I'm in esteemed company #bluetick #byebye (sic).'

4. Amitabh Bachchan

Known for his unusual humor, the Deewar actor took to Instagram and wrote something which left Twitteratis in splits.

Tweeting in Hindi, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, "Aye Twitter bhaiya! Sun rahe hain? Ab to paisa bhee bhar diye hain ham. Toh u jo neel kamal hot hai na, hamaar naam ke aage, u to vaapas lagaay den bhaiya, taaki log jaan jaayen kee ham hee hain - amitabh bachhchhan Haath to jod liye rahe ham. Ab ka, godava jode padee ka?? (sic)."

5. Vir Das

The actor-comedian, known for his sarcastic tweets, took to the social media platform and said how he is okay with being impersonated. 'I like this world. To verify an artist, buy tickets, not ticks (sic).' He further added, 'Bye blue tick. I'm okay with someone impersonating me on Twitter. YOU deal with the things they call me (sic).'

Vir further added, 'How about this? If you like what I'm sayingacirceuroaeligit's the real me. If you're pissed off/offended/looking to take action/going to complain to some sort of metaphorical papa, this account belongs to an unverified impersonator. Cool? (sic).'

The prices for a blue subscription (also termed verification) varies from market to market. In India, the subscription costs INR 900 per month if done via smartphone. The cost goes down to INR 650 per month on the Twitter website. There's an annual subscription plan available too, which is relatively cheaper.
