The movie is headlined by Kunal Kapoor and Radhika Apte. It revolves around two villages, Upri and Bairi, who have been each other's crude enemies for decades together.

Starring Sanjay Mishra, Tillitama Shome, and Ranveer Shorey in key roles, the film revolves around the barren village of Mahua, where farmer suicides are a common occurrence.

In this brutal scenario, an old man worried about his son, an impoverished farmer, and a debt collector make a pact for their survival.

4. Swades: Netflix



Shah Rukh Khan, who plays a NASA engineer in Swades, suddenly has an undying urge to visit his childhood househelp who is now living in a small village.

After visiting the place, he develops an empathetic connection with the villagers and their condition. Will his aspiration to establish electricity in the rural area with the help of an alternate solution change the fate of the village?

5. Kedarnath: Zee5



Featuring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan, the film was shot at the divine destination where Lord Shiva is said to reside. Kedarnath is based on the deadly Uttarakhand floods of 2013.

A love story is set against one of the worst natural calamities India could have witnessed, which occurred due to excessive urbanization in the valley.
