Radio City Freedom Recommends Latest Hits by Your Favourite Indie Artistes Edition 20

An enthralling combination of trap and folk, Sajna Slapper by Bengaluru-based trap act Gurbax feat. Burrah is a banger act of rebellion and love overcoming all odds. As its Youtube description suggests, the track takes you into a dystopian Punjabi wedding. This must be an inclusion on your party playlist.

Pune-based alternative rock band The 5th Vedas latest single Humnava is about love, longing and letting go. Filled with deep regret about overlooking a love that couldve made the road ahead easier, Humnava is about confronting ugly truths and seeking redemption and the band delivers complete justice to the emotions behind their composition.

Bengaluru-based celebrated singer/songwriter Mahesh Raghunandan shares the grief of many whove lost their loved ones, in the midst of a global pandemic with his single, Fading Colours. Interestingly, the song was written about five years ago, but the misery following the pandemic deemed fit for Mahesh to release his song. With a beautiful video conceptualised by Harshita Bandodkar, the singer encapsulates pain and hope in equal measure.

One of the three tracks from their EP, Now Showing, New Delhis Fopchu, featuring Shantam Khanna and Siddhant Subs, offer a jiggy bop sensation with Time and Time Again. Their composition is further complimented by backing vocals rendered by Mahima Dayal Mathur aka Banwari Basanti and washboard and melodica instrumentals by Stefan Kaye.

Pune based singer-songwriter Aayushi Patil follows up her debut Hindi single Tu Hai Yahi with her latest English release Rise, a sombre ode to one pulling ones self out of their misery and taking charge during tough situations. Replete with soft strings, keys and the bass, Aayushi offers listeners an immersive experience.

Ironically titled Mellow, The Lightyears Explode dial up the fun and groove with their latest single, through a peppy composition that will instantly make you put on your dancing shoes and sway the blues away.
