Know Your Star - Shreya Ghoshal
Shreya married her childhood sweetheart Shiladitya Mukhopadhyay in a traditional Bengali ceremony on 5th February 2015.
Besides Hindi, Shreya also sings in Bengali, Assamese, Marathi, Gujarati, Nepali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada .
She is the only singer of the current generation to have received as many as 5 National Film Awards.
She was awarded the highest honour at Londons House of Commons in the field of music.
The Governor of the United States of Ohio, Ted Strickland declared 26th June as Shreya Ghoshal Day on 26th June 2010.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali would have given Shreya, her break in Devdas but the singer was first noticed by his mother, Leela Bhansali.
Though she was a student of Science at the Atomic Energy Research Center, she wished to pursue Arts.
She has acquired training in classical music from Padmashree Late Kalyanji Bhai and Late Mukta Bhideji.
