Know Your Band: Faridkot

Faridkot has given the title track for the Bollywood movie "Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene" in 2015.

Faridkots 2nd album ‘Phir Se?’ was released in 2014 by Universal Music. The band played a 7-city national tour to promote the album. It features collaborations with Suhail Yusuf Khan, the prodigal Delhi saarangi player and Aditi Singh Sharma, one of Bollywoods finest upcoming singers. Both are old friends of the band members.

Faridkot performed in Kabul, Afganisthan in 2013 with Noorie as part of the "Vote for Peace" concert at Alliance Francais.

Faridkots first album ‘Ek’ was released by Times Music in 2011. It went on to be the 2nd highest sold independent release on the label since Euphoria.

Faridkot was one of the finalists on Channel Vs ‘Launchpad’ in 2009. They didnt win the competition but they still managed to gain a lot of popularity among the viewers.

Faridkot was formed in 2008 and the name Faridkot was actually printed on a t shirt that IP Singh saw at Janpath.

Faridkot has been enthralling and entertaining avid independent music fanatics since 2008. Consisting of frontman IP Singh and Rajarshi Sanyal on guitars, Faridkot has carved out a cult following for themselves in the North. Their music is a mixture of shifting blues guitars and harmonic love melodies blended around a thumping percussion and bass.
