Lee Jae-yoon is a South Korean-Canadian actor and model. He was born on December 15, 1984. Apart from working in some popular movies and dramas, hes also known for his athleticism, being a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and being a fitness enthusiast. 1. My Love By My Side (2011)
This was an early role for Lee Jae-yoon. This daily drama revolves around the intertwined lives of several families. While he wasn't the main lead, he played a supporting character.
2. Heartless City (2013)
This noir crime thriller is one of the works that brought him more recognition. He played Ji Hyung-min, a detective in the Special Investigations Unit. His character is determined and righteous, pursuing justice in the gritty underworld of drug trafficking and organised crime. He's part of the team trying to take down the drug ring, often clashing with the complex and morally ambiguous protagonist. 3. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo (2015-2016)
This is probably one of his most well-known roles, particularly among international fans. He plays Jung Jae-yi, the older cousin of Jung Joon-hyung (Nam Joo-hyuk's character). Jae-yi is a kind and gentle doctor who runs an obesity clinic. Kim Bok-joo (Lee Sung-kyung) develops a crush on him, leading to some humorous and heartwarming moments. 4. Mother (2018)
This drama is a remake of a Japanese series. Lee Jae-yoon plays Jin-hong, a police officer and the ex-boyfriend of Soo-jin (Lee Bo-young), the main character. He is a supportive figure to Soo-jin as she navigates the difficult situation of becoming a mother to an abused child. His character is understanding and tries to help Soo-jin within the bounds of his job and their past relationship. It's a more serious and emotionally resonant role compared to his role in Weightlifting Fairy.
