Candid and Exclusive: Team Udta Punjab hold press meet
The entire team feels jubilant after the Mumbai High Court ruled against the CBFC decision of several cuts in the film.
The movie will now release on the scheduled date ie June 17th, 2016.
Co-producer Vikas Bahl clearly look relieved after a month-long struggle with getting the film released.
This is Alia and Shahids second film together. They were last seen together in Shaandaar.
Diljit Dosanjh would be marking his Hindi debut with the movie. The actor has also crooned song for the film.
Shahid Kapoors role in the movie is a complete departure from the characters essayed in the past.
Alia Bhatt will be essaying the role of a Bihari immigrant caught in the warp of drugs. The actress also expressed her desire to star in another movie with her favorite actress, Kareena Kapoor Khan.
A much relieved Udta Punjab team held a press meet post the Mumbai High Court ruling and announced that the movie would release as per schedule.
