While Sabyasachi Mukherjee is synonymous with extravagant Bollywood wedding wear, several actresses opted for stunning alternatives on their special day. Lets delve into the unique bridal choices of these five actresses, exploring their wedding themes and the designers who brought their visions to life.

Sonakshi Sinha
Instead of going with the traditional extravagant lehenga, Sonakshi chose the sustainable way for her wedding. The Heeramandi actress wore an ivory white chikankari saree, which matched Zaheer’s chikankari kurti. Interestingly, Sonakshi upcycled this saree from her own mother’s wedding.
Taapsee Pannu
Ditching the lehenga choli look altogether, Taapsee Pannu chose a red salwar kameez, staying true to her Sikh roots. The Thappad actress shared that her bridal outfit was designed by one of her college friends, Mani Bhatia. Taapsee got married to Mathias Boe in an intimate ceremony back in March.
Dia Mirza
Dia Mirza wore a traditional red Banarasi silk saree for her wedding day. The saree was designed under the banner of Raw Mango, which the actress complemented with gold jewellery and polki.
Kareena Kapoor Khan
Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan married back in 2012. For her special day, Kareena wore her mother-in-law, Sharmila Tagore’s rust orange and gold sharara. Designer Ritu Kumar restored the heirloom lehenga and added a few embellishments too.
