Over the past few years, many South Indian actresses who married chose to stay close to their roots on their special day. They did this by wearing traditional weaves and adorning gorgeous heritage jewellery. Here are some Indian actresses who went with traditional South Indian attire for their wedding day:

1. Sobhita Dhulipala
Sobhita married Naga Chaitanya on December 5, 2024. For her special day, the bride wore a puttu cheera saree with real zari, celebrating her Telugu heritage. She paired her saree with a basikam, maathapatti, traditional septum piercing, and heritage jewellery.
2. Deepika Padukone
For her wedding with Ranveer Singh, Deepika wore a beautiful rust gold saree, typically worn by Konkani brides. She completed her look with maathapatti, heavy jhumkas, and layered necklaces.
3. Aditi Rao Hydari
Aditi Rao Hydari's recent wedding with her long-time boyfriend Siddharth was the prime example of a simple yet elegant South Indian bride. She wore a white and gold tissue lehenga and paired it with a loose braid and Sabyasachi's heritage jewellery.
4. Aishwarya Rai
For her 2007 wedding with Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai wore a beautiful gold and yellow Kanjeevaram silk saree in honour of her Kannadiga roots. She adorned her bridal saree with maathapatti, heavy, layered neck pieces, and jhumkas.
