The Hindi remake of the Malayalam original by the same name, Drishyam brought out proficient performances from Devgn and Tabu. Giving us a cat-and-mouse chase, the movie is an edge-of-the-seat thriller till the last scene. Devgn shines in his part as the protective father who manipulates the law.

The hit-churning duo of Ajay Devgn and director Rohit Shetty, gave us the immensely entertaining Singham which has acquired a cult status over the years. As the rooted, no-nonsense cop, Ajay was extremely convincing that people wanted to give corrupt netas, a kick in the rear the way he does. The movie also offered memorable punchlines which we can continue mouthing, even today.

Trust only Devgn to look the sinner and the saint. In Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai he played a prominent kingpin who carries out unlawful activities and yet commands respect. The role earned him a Filmfare nomination for the Best Actor and his act as Sultan Mirza was absolutely outstanding.

He may not have had a prominent role in Raajneeti, yet his deep, dark brooding eyes ensured he stood out as the illegitimate heir of an influential, political family. Devgn displays sincerity and earnestness as the undisputed leader of the backward classes in Prakash Jhas 2010 political drama.

Close to the heels of Khakee, Ajay proved his acting mettle for villainous roles with Kaal. As the kohl-eyed tourist guide, he would continue to daunt you, much after youve walked out from the theatre.

To stand up to the likes of Amitabh Bachchan as the main antagonist is no mean feat, but Ajay slayed it with his ruthless act in Khakee. Featuring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Akshay Kumar, Ajays performance was intimidating for cine-goers.

The best Prakash Jha and Ajay Devgn collaboration till date, Gangaajal was a tale about an idealistic cop, caught in the web of corruption and power struggle. Despite the lack of box office potential, Ajay delivered a dignified performance with ease.

Devgn delivered a knock out performance in Ram Gopal Vermas Company. One of RGVs most prominent films after Satya, Company gave Ajay the opportunity to evoke fear and awe without the usual theatrics. He was menacing and lovable as Malik, the underworld Mafioso.

Zakhm dealt with Ajays identity as a Hindu son brought up by a Muslim mother. It was also Mahesh Bhatts last outing as a director before he helmed the role of a producer. Though the film carried several flaws in terms of screenplay, Ajays sincere act stood out from everything else.
