It’s a SIX for Radio City Freedom Awards, this March

Radio City Freedom Awards

Following five successful editions, Radio City Freedom Awards has swung back in its sixth edition.

Scheduled to be held in March 2019, the objective behind these awards is to showcase and recognize the best Indian indie musicians across languages and genres and acknowledge original works.

In 2012, radiocity.in launched Radio City Freedom, a dedicated web radio station which plays independent music 24/7, from across the country. The radio station provides the platform for indie musicians to showcase their work and reach out to their audience through repeated listening.

Each edition, the RCFA receive upto 700 entries across music and non-music categories in different languages. The USP of these awards is that language, location and genre is no bar, as long as they are officially released in India. Entries pour in as much from the country’s small towns as from the metros. Radio City Freedom Awards holds nothing but talent as the top-most criterion. Young indie artists have landed themselves with successful independent albums or have ended up singing for films.

This year, the objective is #BeOriginal which will be traversed through a set of pre-gigs scheduled to be held across five Indian cities culminating to the Grand Finale that will be held at Mumbai, during March-end.
