The makers of the upcoming Vidya Balan-starrer 'Sherni' unveiled the much-awaited trailer, earlier this afternoon, much to the absolute anticipation of fans.Directed by Amit Masurkar of the National Award-winning Rajkummar Rao-starrer 'Newton', the film is based upon Vidya essaying a titular part as a forest officer, who is tasked with the mission of saving a village, which has been ravaged by a man-eating tiger. While she is expected to carry out her duties with utmost sincerity, she must also confront condescending observations upon her ability and skills by male allies.Written by Aastha Tiku, 'Sherni' is the second digital release for the Padmashri recipient actress after 'Shakuntala Devi', which was also released on Amazon Prime Video, last July.Produced by Masurkar, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Vikram Malhotra, 'Sherni' also features a fine ensemble of actors including Vijay Raaz, Neeraj Kabi, Ila Arun, Sharat Saxena, Brijendra Kala and Gopal Dutt.The film premieres on Amazon Prime Video from June 18, 2021 onwards.Watch the trailer below.
