Here comes a love story that embodies the 'love for all' spirit like no other mainstream Hindi movie has before. Same sex love has been beautifully explored in the past through films such as 'Kapoor and Sons' and 'Aligarh'. But these stories didn't bloom from conservative or rigid environments.'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga' pushes the envelope further by letting a mainstream actress explore a path lesser travelled. Starring Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla, the film explores the sensitive relationship between an over-enthusiastic father who won't stop seeking grooms for his disinterested daughter. Little does he try to understand or apprehend what his daughter goes through, even as he tries to woo an elderly prospect for himself.While Anil and Sonam are perfectly cast as daddy and daddy's dearest, Rao and Chawla are easily the film's biggest delights. The pairing of Kapoor Sr. and Chawla is likely to send many film buffs of the 90s down the nostalgia lane.
