Actor Sharib Hashmi has a lot of reasons to be cheerful and hopeful about as the second season of the much loved show, ‘The Family Man’ nears its premiere.
When asked about the response to the first season and the trailer of the second season, the ‘Filmistaan’ actor rejoices saying “We never imagined that the show would be received with so much love. We realised it further when the trailer came out of the second season. We then learnt how much craze is there for the show. All I can say is that I’m very happy to be a part of this show.”
Netizens have hailed the friendship of Srikant and JK, comparing it to the likes of other popular pairs from Jai-Veeru and Munna-Circuit. Ask him about what he thinks about Srikant being the party pooper in JK’s romantic prospects and the actor chuckles, “They are inseparable. Srikant can’t live without JK nor JK can live without Srikant. Infact, Srikant still has a family. JK has no one. His life and family revolves around Srikant. By that logic, JK is more dependent on Srikant. I don’t think Srikant is a stumbling block in JK’s romantic life (laughs) but he expects a certain discipline when on duty. But I really feel happy when people compare Srikant and JK with the friendship of Jai-Veeru and Munna-Circuit.”
Fan favourite scenes from the show are a huge subject of discussion amongst the audience. Infact, Amazon Prime Video has released a series of compiled moments from the first season that particularly stand out. We asked Hashmi to pick his favourite scenes. “My favourite scenes would be the Mangalsutra Chor sequence and the argument between Suchitra and Srikant when he is drunk. Even two of Moosa’s scenes are my favourites. One where he is trying to befriend Mary, his nurse at the hospital and the other is the big reveal about him.”
The second season of ‘The Family Man’ premieres on Amazon Prime Video on June 4, 2021 at midnight. It also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Priyamani, Samantha Akkineni and others.
