When Sonakshi Sinha was called immature to do Lootera
After doing several masala movies, it was Lootera that broke Sonakshi Sinha`s girl next-door image. While she was often called an amenity of the movie, Lootera proved her flair and knack for being a performer over an actress.
But did you know, she was discouraged from doing the film and was told she wasn`t mature enough to play the part?
As Sonakshi celebrates her 38th birthday, let`s take you down the road when she was told doing an `arty` film like Lootera would probably be the biggest mistake of her life. While the movie performed moderately well at the box office, it was the actress`s performance that was lauded the most.

She said, “I don’t believe I’m all that pretty. And I’ve never done a role to prove a point. I did Lootera because it came during the time I was doing masala films. It offered a refreshing change. The script was beautiful. My role was that of a TB patient. But I never consciously scouted for such a role. It just happened.”
“Everybody around me told me don’t do the ‘arty’ film. They told me the time was not right. That I needed to be way more mature to portray that role. I was discouraged from doing that film. But I felt so strongly about the character that I went ahead and did it. And I’m glad that it was appreciated,” the Dabangg actress further added.
