After the much-anticipated Bollywood drama, Takht was called off due to the deadly pandemic, Vicky Kaushal and Karan Johar collaborate on another project. Vicky's upcoming movie Govinda Naam Mera is produced by Dharma Productions and that's where the actor and filmmaker come together to create yet another Bollywood comedy-drama. Announcing the OTT release of Govinda Naam Mera, Vicky and KJo entered into a fun banter where the latter was trying to convince the former to come on board for his famous franchise Student Of The Year 3.
Takht, a Karan Johar directorial, also featured some A-listers of Bollywood like Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, and more. Based on the fight for the epic Mughal throne, this movie was supposed to be Bollywood's Game Of Thrones. However, due to the two-year long uncertain Covid wave, the movie was shelved. KJo even confirmed the same on his chat show Koffee With Karan.
In the same episode where Vicky Kaushal appeared with Sidharth Malhotra, the former expressed his feelings about Takht being sidelined and his focus was completely on Govinda Naam Mera. The comedy-drama that also features Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar in pivotal roles will now be an OTT release. The upcoming Bollywood movie will release on Disney+ Hotstar.
To announce the same, Vicky and Karan took to Instagram. The two can be seen indulging in a fun banter as the filmmaker makes a hard bargain to get the actor on board. Karan ends up offering him a leading role in his popular franchise Student Of The Year 3. Does Vicky accepts the role or rejects it, watch it for yourself here.
