Sonam Bajwa opens up on losing Hindi films for this reason
Sonam Bajwa has become a new director`s favourite in Bollywood. After conquering the Punjabi film industry, she is now gearing up for her next Hindi film, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, opposite Harshvardhan Rane.

Sonam Bajwa opens up on losing Bollywood movies
In an earlier interview with Film Companion, the actress mentioned that her initial apprehensions occurred after she discussed her concerns about doing intimate scenes on-screen with her parents.
Sharing her inhibition of doing on-screen intimacy, Bajwa said, "I said no to a couple of things in Bollywood because I was like, Is Punjab going to be OK with it? We have that mentality that families will be watching. I was very scared to do a kissing scene in a film back then, because I thought, ‘How are people going to respond to it? How will these people, who’ve made me who I am, respond to it? Is my family going to understand that this is for a film?’ I had all these questions in my mind."

"It was a couple of years ago, and I spoke to my mom and dad about it. They were like, `Yes, if it’s for a film, it’s fine.` And I was so shocked. Why did I not speak to them first? So many things we assume in our heads. I was so shy to discuss this with my parents, and they were like, `Koi nahi, je film liya, koi chakkar ni (It’s for a film, there’s no problem)`," she added.
The Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat actor admitted that she regretted not having this conversation sooner. She felt her fears were based more on assumptions than reality.
On the work front, Sonam Bajwa will next be seen in Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, co-starring Harshvardhan Rane. The film is high on love, revenge, vengeance, emotions, and all things dramatic.
The Milap Zaveri directorial will clash with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna`s Thamma. The two films will release on October 21 in cinemas near you.
