In her recent interview, the actress opened up about the backlash, reading bizarre headlines, and receiving death threats for marrying into a different religion.
She even opened up about how Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh`s separation impacted her mental and emotional well-being, further revealing the close bond she shared with her former sister-in-law.

The Tum Mile actress recalled how people used phrases like “Ghar Wapsi” and “Love Jihad” after she announced her decision to marry Kunal Kemmu.
In an interview with Nayandeep Rakshit, Soha said, “I don’t think it got to me because I feel like as long as the people I love, care about, and respect are on the same page as me, it’s okay. There are going to be lots of haters and lots of voices, and that’s also okay."

"I am fine with everyone having an opinion, and that’s all fine. So I think things like interfaith marriage, even when Kunal and I got married, even when Kareena and Bhai got married, there were lots of strange things: Love Jihad, Ghar Wapsi, and all kinds of weird headlines. You know, ‘You took one of ours, now we will take one of yours.’”
Saif Ali Khan once revealed that Kareena Kapoor`s father, Randhir Kapoor, had received an anonymous letter filled with threats. He also recalled his parents, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore, receiving the same resistance.

For the uninitiated, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh tied the knot in 1991 but called it quits in 2004. They share two children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan.
Sharing how she felt at the time of their separation, Soha said, "These are things that you don’t have any control over. When a marriage ends, those families also go through some kind of change and adjustment, and you may find your own independent equation after some time, but it’s complicated."
"For me, Amrita was someone I have lived with in her house. She has looked after me. She has taken me for photoshoots and done so much. We have played Scrabble together,” she added.
Saif Ali Khan later married Kareena Kapoor in 2012. They have two sons, Taimur and Jeh.
