Sikandar vs L2 Empuraan box office collection
Salman Khan`s Sikandar was one of the most anticipated movies. But as soon as it hit the theatres, moviegoers and critics wondered, was it worth the wait? Fans were excited to see Salman and AR Murugadoss`s collaboration, expecting a power-packed story.
However, this could be one of those movies struggling to keep up with the shows, let alone the collection. Many cinemas across multiple cities have cancelled Sikandar shows due to low demand.
John Abraham`s The Diplomat, Mohanlal`s L2 Empuraan, and the Gujarati comedy All The Best Pandya take over more shows. With a poor word of mouth for Sikandar, the movie is likely to see a downfall in the coming weekdays.
Salman Khan`s action drama was released on Sunday, March 30, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. While it made the most of the Eid weekend, the real test of the film will be seen in how well it survives throughout this week.

There were reports of Sikandar shows being cancelled due to no demand or audience.
A trade source spoke to Bollywood Hungama and said, “We didn’t find any instance of the show getting cancelled in Mumbai. There were shows where the number of viewers was in single digits, but on the first two days, no show got cancelled due to no audience. However, the same happened in Surat, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Indore, etc., especially in areas where there was little or no Eid effect.”

Kiritbhai T Vaghasia, who owns The Friday Cinema multiplex in Surat, said, “Not a single ticket was sold for the 9:00 am and 10:00 am shows on Monday. I was hoping there would be more audience for this film on Eid. Instead, we sold more tickets on Sunday, the day of the release. I guess the word of mouth spread faster, resulting in such dismal numbers on Monday.”
Mohanlal`s L2 Empuraan continues to get steady footfalls despite its clash with Murugadoss`s action drama. Several cinemas in Mumbai, including Cinepolis Seawoods and PVR Orion Mall, have replaced the evening shows of Sikandar with the Malayalam film.
Meanwhile, in South Mumbai`s elite INOX, John Abraham-starrer The Diplomat will be played instead of Sikandar at 8:00 pm and 8:30 pm.
However, amid all these cancellations, Mumbai`s Gaiety Galaxy stood as an exception. Sikandar shows have been increased in Gaiety-Galaxy or G7 multiplex as Bhaijaan fans continue to flood the cinemas.
Despite the film`s roller-coaster box office collection, the one thing that stands strong is Salman Khan`s stardom.
