Shocking! Famous Malayalam Actor Innocent Vareed Thekkethala Dies At 75

Today, the Malayalam film industry lost another precious gem, Innocent Vareed Thekkethala, a popular actor, producer, playback singer, and also an active politician. who won millions of hearts with his versatile performances passed away on Sunday at the age of 75. In the year 2012, Vareed was diagnosed with throat cancer, but with immediate treatment and an improved lifestyle, he fought the disease and got back to work. The news of Innocent’s sudden demise spread weeks after it was reported that he was hospitalized due to breathing issues and unrest. The actor was admitted to a private hospital in Kochi.
The veteran actor was also a one-time MP from Chalakudy LS constituency, and also the former president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). Innocent worked in various Malayalam films including Akkare Ninnoru Maran, Gandhinagar 2nd Street, Unnikale Oru Kadha Parayam, Nadodikkattu, Mukunthetta Sumitra Vilikkunnu, Vadakkunokkiyantram, Ramji Rao Speaking, Peruvannapurathe Visheshangal and Mazhavil Kavadi, Thoovalsparsham, Gajakesariyogam, Dr. Pasupathy, No.20 Madras Mail, Kottayam Kunjachan, Kilukkam, Sandesham, Keli, Adhwaytham, Kabooliwala, Vietnam Colony and Devaasuram.
Following the sudden demise of the legendary actor, Shashi Tharoor took to Twitter and paid his tribute. He tweeted, “Mourning the loss of character actor, comedian & one-time Kerala MP Innocent, who has just passed away at age 75. Aside from being a brilliantly inventive & gifted actor, he was a fine human being whom it was a pleasure to interact with in the Lok Sabha. RIP. Om Shanti."

It`s hard for the industry to digest the fact that the legendary actor who shined like a shining star is no more. Innocent celebrated his 75th birthday this month only and he proved himself by winning many prestigious awards in his career. He was rewarded with The Asianet Film Award for Best Actor in a Comic Role for Rasathanthram. The actor will always be in our hearts for making us laugh through his comic roles, and perfectly fitting in any character.
