Veteran actor Satish Shah passes away at 74
This year seems to be jinxed with some upsetting news. Veteran actor and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai fame Satish Shah passes away at 74 of kidney-related issues. He passed away on October 25 around 2:30 pm at Mumbai`s Hinduja hospital.
The 74-year-old actor, known for his iconic roles in `Sarabhai vs Sarabhai,` `Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro,` and `Main Hoon Na,` had been battling with kidney-related complications for quite some time and had undergone a transplant recently.
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit confirmed the news of Satish Shah`s death on social media and wrote, "Sad and shocked to inform you that well-known actor and a great human being Satish Shah passed away an hour ago due to kidney failure. A great loss to the industry. Om Shanti."
His manager confirmed the heartbreaking news to India Today, adding that the body is currently at the hospital and the funeral is scheduled to happen on Sunday.
Satish Shah`s versatile career
Over a career spanning over four decades, Shah became a household name with his memorable roles in television series and movies. He gained fame through his performance in the 1983 satire Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, where he portrayed multiple roles with finesse.

Some of his popular filmography also includes roles in `Hum Saath-Saath Hain,` `Hum Aapke Hain Kaun,` `Main Hoon Na,` `Kal Ho Naa Ho,` `Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa,` `Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,` and `Om Shanti Om.`
His character, Indravadan Sarabhai, aka Indu, became one of the most popular and loved television characters. The satire, sarcasm, and witty punchlines made it all the more interesting and fun to watch.
His performance in the 1984 sitcom `Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi,` which became a defining show of the era. His death has come as a big shock in the entertainment industry. He is survived by his wife, Madhu Shah.
