Speaking about the movie`s unexpected success, Rane said, "It is a very soothing feeling. This makes you believe what Shah Rukh Khan sir said in Om Shanti Om—‘Agar sab thik na ho to woh the end nahi, picture abhi baaki hai mere dost.’ I could resonate with that dialogue after nine years of trying, failing, and still trying again. It feels like a soothing ointment and justifies the dialogue Farah Ma’am wrote in the film."

The Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru directorial collected over 50 crore globally during its re-release. However, it was a box-office disappointment when it was initially released in 2016.
Speaking about the same with News18 Showsha, the actor said, "Break-up jab hota hai, dil toot ta hi hai. People who try to be cool and say that they are unfazed lie. I can also say that the failure of Sanam Teri Kasam didn`t bother me, but I won`t because it broke my heart."
On the work front, Harshvardhan Rane will be next seen in Dewaniyat alongside Sonam Bajwa.
