Rajkummar Rao is "still sinking in" the feeling of having a baby with Patralekhaa
Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa took the internet by storm after they announced their first pregnancy on July 9. The exciting news came two days before his film, Maalik`s, release. The couple, who have been together for over a decade, will be soon welcoming their first child.
For the uninitiated, Rajkummar and Patralekhaa had been dating for over 10 years before they tied the knot in 2021. It was an intimate ceremony for the duo.
The Badhaai Do actor, who is busy promoting his upcoming action drama Maalik, shared his excitement about embracing fatherhood and how the journey has been so far.
Rajkummar Rao on expecting first baby with Patralekhaa
The celebrity couple took to social media on Wednesday and shared the heartwarming news with their fans and followers. In a joint post, they wrote, "Baby on the way."
On Thursday, Rajkummar got candid with the Hindustan Times and expressed his excitement to become a father soon.

He said, “We are absolutely thrilled, to be honest. We feel like a lot of our friends, who are parents, have been telling us that this is going to be the best phase of your life. So, we are looking forward to it. And it`s still sinking in.”
“Every day is a new day. We have known each other for 15 years. We have grown up together. So, we are still sometimes like, ‘What? Actually, this is happening. We`re going to be parents’. That being said, it is a beautiful feeling,” adds the Stree actor.
Rajkummar Rao-Patralekhaa`s first trip with the baby
While the baby is still in the mommy-to-be`s womb, the couple took their first trip to New Zealand while Patralekhaa was in her first trimester. Rajkummar Rao gave adorable insights about the couple`s first trip with the baby sometime back.
“Apart from just being us, it was our first trip with the upcoming member of our family. And that is what makes it really special,” says Rajkummar, adding, “We have travelled so much in the past, but for the first time, it was more about an internal travel for us. Like just being there with each other.”
“Quietly sitting for hours and soaking in the beauty around us. Otherwise, you are always in a rush. We always plan so much that it`s like, ‘I`m going to do this, I`m going to do that’. But this time, it was more about soaking in and being with each other at their,” the daddy-to-be concluded.
On the work front, Rajkummar Rao will be seen in Maalik, an action-entertainer which releases in theatres on July 11. As for Patralekhaa, she was recently seen in Phule alongside Pratik Gandhi.
