After a super-successful turnout at the first Radio City Freedom Concert in Bangalore, Radio City Freedom Awards 4 continues its musical trip as it arrives next in the ‘Oxford of the East’ Pune on February 1st, 2016.
Indie acts who shall rock the stage in Pune include Anand Bhaskar Collective and Swadesi.
Keeping in mind the central theme of this year’s Radio City Freedom Awards, the catch is to tap the ‘Sounds of the Soil’. The aim is to promote home-grown talent that performs in languages and cultures related to their origins and discover tunes and voices that are earthy and rooted. Through this the objective is to cut across diversity and unite musicians for the common cause of good music.
Anand Bhaskar Collective as an act, was conceptualized by frontman Anand Bhaskar in 2012. The band has released two albums so far, namely ‘Samsara’ and ‘Excuse Me’. They are also the recipients of the Judge’s Choice Award and the People’s Choice Award for the Best Rock Act at the Radio City Freedom Awards 2015.
Swadesi, is a Mumbai-based hip-hop act who strictly are against the idea of performing in English. They also won the award for the Best Indie Collaboration alongwith Mumbai’s Finest for their single, ‘Mumbai Cypher’ at the Radio City Freedom Awards 2015.
Catch these two powerhouse collective at The High Spirits, Pune from 8 pm onwards.
