Raabta Title Track: Even Deepika’s leggy lass act cannot save this awful recreation

The much-awaited special dance song from ‘Raabta’ featuring Deepika Padukone is out.
Bearing the same name and a remake of the 2012 ‘Agent Vinod’ hit, ‘Raabta’ features Padukone in a sultry and smoking avatar as she swirls among male dancers with sensuous moves, in a thigh slit evening gown.
But that’s little respite for a composition that is awfully unbearable in comparison to the original hit song that featured Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Also the choreography is not at all upto the mark leaving Deepika stick out merely as a decorative prop.
Sung by Nikhita Gandhi, composed by Pritam and penned by Irshad Kamil and Amitabh Bhattacharya, the song tries to exploit tunes similar to The Chainsmokers compositions to give out an urban and contemporary sound, but unfortunately fails to deliver.
‘Raabta’ stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Kriti Sanon and Jim Sarbh.
Directed by Dinesh Vijan, it is expected to release on June 9th, 2017.
