Paresh Rawal on fallout with Priyadarshan, update on Hera Pheri 3, and more
Apart from his incredible performances, Paresh Rawal has been headlining the Bollywood gossip column due to his fallout with filmmaker Priyadarshan after the actor walked out of Hera Pheri 3. The controversy left cinephiles shocked and heartbroken.
Just when Hera Pheri fans thought the film would not have the magic of Babu Bhaiyya, the news of the 70-year-old superstar rejoining the project sent waves all over the internet.
Now, in an interview, Rawal opened up about his controversy with the director, when the film is likely to go on floors, and more.

Speaking to News18 Showsha, the veteran star revealed that the makers are likely to start shooting the film by early next year. “It’s a work in progress. We’ll start shooting for the film in February-March next year."
When asked about his sudden walkout from the project, which caused a major financial hit to Akshay Kumar, who had bought the rights of the franchise, Rawal said he had genuine reasons to take that decision.
But did the controversy impact his relationship with Priyadarshan, professionally or otherwise?
“A lot has happened, but that hasn’t soured my relationship with Priyadarshan. Aise rishta kharab nahi hota hai. In fact, what has happened is that it has further solidified our equation. Through all of this, we now know each other in a sharper and better way. Ghaav bhar gaya hai. Our relationship is very transparent," he said.
Hera Pheri 3 will mark Paresh Rawal and Priyadarshan`s 15th collaboration. After voicing his frustration over playing Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, the actor expressed interest in a potential spin-off for the character.

However, the chances of the same are slim now.
The actor shared, “When they were making Phir Hera Pheri, they got overconfident. It shouldn’t have happened. Premises and characters like in Hera Pheri rarely come our way. Aur usko leke bada nazakat se, bada sambhal ke chalna chahiye. (It should be handled delicately). It shouldn’t be robbed of its sanctity. When I was dubbing for Phir Hera Pheri, I realised ki humne ganda paap kar diya hai. (I realised we have committed a sin.) The situation was such that we did what we did, but we shouldn’t have.”
The Bhagam Bhagg actor further added, “I’m not a greedy actor. I’m not foolish either. I’m not someone who assumes that duniya meri wajah se chalti hai. Even if a standalone film happens someday, Shyam and Raju also need to be there."
