Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush are the talk of the town ever since their dating rumours took the internet by storm. Speculation of the South superstar and Telugu actress dating went viral after they were spotted together at the Son Of Sardaar 2 success party.
Prior to this, Mrunal made it to the guest list of Dhanush`s Bollywood film, Tere Ishq Mein`s wrap-up party. As per a Reddit post, the duo even share a joint Spotify playlist, which sounds super romantic.
Now, Radio City has some interesting and spicy scoop about the rumoured couple, as a source close to them confirms their relationship.
Mrunal and Dhanush`s love story
The Sita Ramam actress and Raanjhanaa actor are planning to keep their new romance away from the limelight and be rather low-key. Reportedly, it was Mrunal`s hectic South schedule that brought her closer to Dhanush.
A source close to the development said, “Yes, it’s true that they are dating. But it’s too new, and they’ve no plans of making their relationship official before the public or the media. At the same time, they’re unfazed about going out and about and being spotted. Friends are truly rooting for them, as they’re quite similar and compatible when it comes to their values, choices and thoughts."

Further revealing how it all started, the source added, “The success of Sita Ramam opened doors for Mrunal in the South film industry. She has simultaneously been working in Mumbai too. Mrunal, who is currently shooting for Dacoit: A Love Story with Adivi Sesh, keeps shuttling between Mumbai and Hyderabad, and it’s during an event down south where she met Dhanush."
The source also pointed out how Thakur and Dhanush`s closeness at the premiere of Kajol`s film, Maa, raised many eyebrows. Further, the actor`s name in Mrunal`s guest list for Son Of Sardaar 2`s premiere cemented speculations.
Mrunal Thakur`s and Dhanush`s past relationships
While the Super 30 actress has always kept her personal life away from the public eye, she was caught in a controversial rumour about dating rapper-singer Baadshah.
However, he denied the rumours and took to his Instagram story to clarify by writing, “Dear internet, sorry to disappoint you yet again, but jaisa aap soch rahe hain, waisa nahi hai."
As for Dhanush, he was previously married to Rajinikanth`s daughter, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, for 18 years before they announced their separation in 2022. They were officially granted a divorce in November 2024. The former couple are parents to two kids – Yatra and Linga.
