Where and when to watch Thudarum on OTT?
Mohanlal is one of the few Malayalam superstars who has seen a rare back-to-back success at the box office after his two films, L2: Empuraan and Thudarum, saw massive commercial success. While the first one was an out-and-out action thriller, the latter surprised fans with the actor`s versatility.
Thudarum continued to attract crowds and saw a strong response even after its theatrical release on April 25. The film not only earned praises from fans, but critics also gave a positive nod, thus breaking several box office records.
If you missed the Malayalam blockbuster in cinemas, don`t worry, because Thudarum will be released on OTT. Those who missed Mohanlal`s magic on the big screen can now enjoy the same in the comfort of their home from this weekend.
Thudarum OTT release
The Malayalam family drama saw a delay in its digital release after the success on the big screen. Now, the makers have announced its OTT release date. Thudarum will stream on JioHotstar starting May 30.
According to the streaming giant, the film will stream on JioHotstar starting this Friday, May 30. Viewers can enjoy the same not just in its original language, Malayalam, but also in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu.

Thudarum narrates the story of Shanmugham, aka Benz (Mohanlal), and his vintage black Ambassador Mark 1 car. After working as a film assistant for years, Benz now lives a simple life with his family in the scenic town of Pathanamthitta.
But what happens when his car gets linked to a police case, due to which he is caught in a chain of tense events? His life turns upside down with unexpected twists and turns, leaving you on the edge of your seat.
Tharun Moorthy on making Thudarum
In an interview, the filmmaker opened up on the process of making the film and whether he faced pressure to meet expectations of Mohanlal`s fans.
He said, “There was pressure. But, thankfully, the majority of his fans stood by my vision. I had interacted with his fans’ associations on this account. But the challenge I had was dealing with those who were misleading the audience with fan-made posters and imaginary content."
"We were all confident about the content. Even though we did not expect this level of success, we knew the film would strike a chord with the audience. We aimed at presenting a free-flowing narrative, from scene 1 to 92," Moorthy further added.
Apart from Mohanlal, the film also stars Shobana, Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Thomas Mathew, Sangeeth Prathap and Krishna Prabha in prominent roles.
Thudarum will see an OTT release on JioCinema on May 30.
