However, amidst this spiritual celebration, a garland seller named Mona Lisa Bhonsle, nicknamed ‘Monalisa,’ has captured national attention for both her beauty and an unfortunate series of events that forced her to leave the mela.
However, Monalisa’s rise to fame came with unforeseen challenges. A viral video showed men swarming her for selfies, intruding on her personal space, and disrupting her ability to sell rudraksha beads. Visitors and social media influencers began seeking her out solely for content, leaving her business neglected.
One particular clip shows Monalisa running to her family for safety while her relatives try to shield her from the overwhelming crowd. Social media users slammed the behaviour of the men who troubled her for photos, calling out the lack of respect for her boundaries.
In another video, Monalisa candidly shared her struggles with the sudden fame. She explained how the constant attention and invasion of her privacy were affecting her emotionally and financially. “I came here to sell rudraksha beads and earn for my family, but now I can’t even work properly,” she said.
