L2 Empuraan Advance Booking: Nearly 1 Lakh Tickets Sold Per Hour

One of the highly anticipated movies, L2: Empuraan, has quickly garnered enough and more eyeballs. With a stellar cast and a promising storyline, the advance booking of Empuraan has crashed the servers and probably created another record.
Prithviraj Sukumaran`s third directorial venture stars Mohanlal in the leading role. Fans and moviegoers were all the more enticed looking at its action-packed trailer.
With advance booking for the Malayalam action drama beginning today, on March 21, Empuraan has shattered records with pre-sales exceeding Rs. 10 crore just a week before its release.
L2: Empuraan advance booking
The advance booking for the upcoming film began on Friday at 9:00 am. Within an hour after the pre-booking began, nearly 93,200 tickets have been sold so far through BookMyShow.
The makers of the movie shared the exciting news on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Another. Record. Shattered. The highest hourly pre-sales ever in Indian cinema on BookMyShow. 96.14k/hr.”

Within an hour, Empuraan advance booking sales have crossed the record of Allu Arjun`s Pushpa 2, which sold nearly 80,000 tickets on BookMyShow, according to several posts on X. However, this claim could not be verified independently by Radio City.
In the global market, the Mohanlal starrer saw an opening-day pre-sale of over Rs.10 crore. This record is the highest for any Malayalam film as per industry tracker Sacknik.
As per Sacknik, Empuraan is predicted to record the highest opening for a Malayalam film, with earnings ranging from Rs 40 crore to 50 crore worldwide. Given it garners positive reviews, the film will go on to make history by becoming one of the highest-grossers in Malayalam cinema.
Currently, the highest Malayalam grosser is Manjumel Boys with Rs. 241 crore.
Empuraan on IMAX
The Mohanlal-Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer has accumulated yet another accomplishment even before its release. L2: Empuraan becomes the first ever Malayalam film to be released on IMAX.

Apart from the two superstars, the film also stars Vivek Oberoi, Manju Warrier, and Tovino Thomas in prominent roles. Empuraan will release on March 27 in cinemas near you.
