Kunickaa Sadanand joins Bigg Boss 19 house
Bigg Boss 19 had a grand premiere on Sunday. Salman Khan`s hosted show welcomed 16 new faces, including veteran actress-turned-lawyer Kunickaa Sadanand. She is not just an actress but also an advocate, a politician, and an activist.
She has been a big part of the film industry for over three decades. Kunickaa became a household name after working in movies like Hum Saath Saath Hain and Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, in which she shared the screen with Salman.
Ahead of entering the Bigg Boss house, the actress opened up about doing the show, her equation with Salman Khan, and more.
Kunickaa Sadanand on doing Bigg Boss 19
The veteran diva sat down for a candid chat with the Indian Express and shared why she chose to be a part of the much-loved reality show.

She said, “Bigg Boss is a tick on my bucket list. I will get to know myself under stressful circumstances. I will develop spiritually because I won’t have to worry about the daily chores of my house. I will have a lot more time to go inwards. I will also know how I gel with new people under difficult circumstances."
"When I was offered this show in May, my children said that I had collected the biggest equity in my life from acting. They had seen how, in remote places like Europe, people recognised me and the kind of respect I got. So, they told me I’d be wasting the opportunity if I didn’t sign on," she added.
Kunickaa Sadanand`s equation with Salman Khan
The Hum Saath Saath Hain actress has worked in two films with the superstar. When asked about her equation with Salman, she recalled the time when he was dating Sangeeta Bijlani.
“I consider Salman Khan a friend, but we haven’t been in touch at all. However, I know that whenever I call him, he will answer. That’s the kind of friendship and mutual respect we share. It was lovely to see him again; he has truly evolved," said Kunickaa.

She further recalled, "I’ve known him since the time he was dating Sangeeta Bijlani—back then, my boyfriend was making a film that Sangeeta was a part of, and that’s when we first met. Later, we worked together in Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. I’m genuinely happy to see how far he has come.”

The Bigg Boss 19 contestant further shared her selection process for the reality show and said she didn`t have to audition for the same.
“I had a few meetings with the team. They were gauging me and making mental notes. The challenge was that I was a little concerned about whether I would be able to live without my children around and how my house would run when I am not there,” Sadanand shared.
Bigg Boss 19 will premiere on JioHotstar daily at 9:00 pm.
