K-pop singer and actor Lee Ji-han died in the brutal Korean stampede that occured during Halloween. After almost three years of lockdown and no public celebration, the Koreans went crazy when the government let loose the restrictions to celebrate the haunted festival this year. And amidst the celebrations, South Korea witnessed one of the worst stampedes ever. The tragedy took place in Itaewon, a town neighbouring Seoul on October 29.

More than 154 lives were lost and many were severely injured. Among the casualties, Korean heartthrob Lee Ji-han was one of the unfortunate ones. He was one of those compassionate souls who tried to help a little girl stuck in the dangerous disaster. The girl survived, however, Lee Ji-han succummed to death.

Confirming the news, Lee Ji-han's agency quoted, 'It's true that Lee Ji Han passed away due to the accident in Itaewon on October 29. We also hoped that it wasn't true, and we were very shocked to hear the news. The family is suffering immense grief right now, so we are being very cautious. May he rest in peace.' For the unversed, the singer was a part of Producer 101 Season 2.

His co-contestants Park Hee-seok and Kim Do-hyun expressed their heartfelt condolences. Lee Ji-han's funeral was held on November 1. The K-drama star has appeared in a web series called Today Was Another Nam Hyun Day. Last week, he wrapped up shooting for his next project, Season of Kok Du.
