Sameer Khakhar Death: Jai Ho Actor Who Shared Screen With Salman Khan Passes Away At 71

Sameer Khakhar, best known for his role as Khopri in the Hindi television show Nukkad, passed away today. He was 71 when he breathed his last due to multiple organ failure. In almost four decades of his career, Sameer was a prominent part of various Bollywood movies and TV shows. After taking a short break from showbiz, the actor shifted to the USA. Later, he returned to Mumbai and went on to do two superhits Gujarati plays.
Ganesh said, "He was suffering from respiratory issues, then he went to sleep and went unconscious. We called the doctor and he suggested that we admit him to the hospital. His heart was not working properly and had urinatory issues too. He was kept on a ventilator, gradually he collapsed at 4:30 am this morning."
Sameer was admitted to M M Hospital in Borivali, Mumbai where he breathed his last. Sameer Khakhar`s funeral was held today at 10:30 AM at the Babhai Naka crematorium.

In his 38 years of career, he has done some noteworthy work in Hinid television - Nukkad, Manorajan, Circus, Naya Nukkad, Shrimaan Shrimati, and Adaalat. He was last seen in Sanjivani which also starred Surbhi Chandna and Namit Khanna.
After returning from the US, he has spoken to a news portal that the actor is in search of work. “Everybody is looking for work and so am I. And by looking for work I mean approaching and applying for a job. In the case of actors, it is a daily exercise with every film or shows. But I am a bad salesman," said Khakhar.
“I am hopeful people who know me will offer me work. I would like to work till my last breath. I want to entertain people all my life, I am not tired yet,” he further added.
