How Zoya Akhtar has shaped the modern young woman with her films?

Zoya Akhtar is just three films old, but the director has made a reputation for herself as one of the most sought-after women directors in showbiz.
Infact, she is now one of the most preferred directors among the content-driven lot of actors.
Reason, if you ask? Well, she is spirited, feisty and most importantly, extremely outspoken that she is almost unapologetic about her views, even if it may come across to you as arrogance.
Which is why her films are a delight for the average young Indian woman. If you saw her ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, last year, you’ll see how carefully she stripped the vestiges off patriarchy in her film. She single-handedly questioned age old beliefs about the growing disparity between men and women, in a light hearted manner.
Hell, she crafts the most nuanced roles for her female leads. Whether it’s Konkona Sen Sharma in ‘Luck By Chance’, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin in ‘Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobaara’ or Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma in ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, she has the most delightful roles that actresses can sink their teeth into.
These roles are definitive, not just for the actress but also for the women in the audience.
If that’s not enough, she is a terrific writer. The scripts of her films and some of her talented brother, Farhan Akhtar’s films exemplify it.
Clearly, Zoya is spear-heading a movement on her own, through her movies. And we love her for it.
