Govinda Reacts After Bullet Injury, Thanks Fans And God
One of the most loved and versatile actors, Govinda has always been every Bollywood lover`s favorite. With his impeccable comic timing, he knows how to fit in every genre. The actor, unfortunately, was involved in a life-threatening incident as he accidentally shot himself in the knee while cleaning his revolver.
Govinda was instantly rushed to the hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). On Tuesday, after being hospitalized and undergoing surgery, the Bhagam Bhaag actor has now issued a first statement.
For the uninitiated, the veteran actor accidentally shot himself in the knee while cleaning his revolver. A regular day turned into a risky event, leaving him injured.
His statement in Hindi is loosely translated to, "This is Govinda. With the blessings of my fans, my parents, and God, I am doing better now. I suffered a bullet injury, but I am feeling fine now. They have removed the bullet. I thank my doctor, Dr. Aggarwal, and all my fans who prayed for my well-being. Thank you very much."

The Coolie No. 1 actor was getting ready for an early flight to Kolkata when he dropped the revolver from his hand and it misfired, leaving him badly injured. The incident happened around 4:45 in the morning while he was cleaning his revolver.
Govinda`s wife, Sunita Ahuja, was not in town when the incident took place. After injuring himself, the actor turned politician was instantly rushed to Mumbai`s CritiCare hospital, where he was admitted in the ICU. His daughter, Tina Ahuja, is currently in the hospital with him.
“He is out of danger and doing well. He was about to leave for Kolkata when the incident occurred. He was keeping his licensed revolver properly in the almirah when it fell on the ground. While handling the weapon, the bullet accidentally discharged. The injury is below the left knee. The bullet has now been removed. His daughter Tina is present at the hospital. He is talking to everyone and is doing alright,” said Shashi Sinha.

Govinda`s daughter, Tina Ahuja, also shared an update from the hospital and said, “I’m currently with Papa in the ICU. I can’t talk much right now... but I want to assure you that Papa’s health is much better now."
"After the bullet injury, Papa underwent surgery, and it was successful. All tests have been conducted by doctors, and the reports are good. Papa will remain in the ICU for at least 24 hours. After 24 hours, doctors will decide whether to keep Papa in the ICU or not. Doctors are continuously monitoring Papa’s condition; there’s no need to worry,” she concluded.
Radio City wishes the versatile actor a safe and speedy recovery.
