It's been a long wait to watch the trailer of 'Gold', Akshay Kumar's much-awaited Independence Day release. It's finally here and one can safely say, it's been a worthwhile wait.Kumar, starring as Tapan Das, or as he would put it, 'a Pagal Bengali', is shown sulking as the Assistant Manager to a British-led Indian Hockey Team, a three-time gold winner. He dreams of India winning a gold in International Hockey, as an independent country.In order to fulfill his dream, Das decides to put together a team of able hockey players including a stupendous cast of Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Kumar Singh and debutante Sunny Kaushal. Mouni Roy marks her mainstream film debut with 'Gold' as well, playing Kumar's wife.Written and directed by Reema Kagti, 'Gold' is the perfect sports-centric film coupled with patriotism that one must not miss, this Independence Day. The dialogues are applause-worthy and each actor has been cast right for their parts.With music by Sachin-Jigar and lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar, the film has been produced by Excel Entertainment, and releases on August 15th, 2018.Watch the trailer below.
