This time, Fawad Khan's The Legend Of Maula Jatt has seen a revolutionizing opening for any Pakistani movie and has new milestones at the global box office. The Bilal Lashari directorial has garnered a handsome amount of Rs. 51 crores ($2.3 millions) globally.

The Legend Of Maula Jatt has set some new global records for a Pakistani movie which has been receieved well by the audience. Alongside Fawad Khan, the action-drama also stars Mahira Khan, Hamsa Ali Abbasi, and Humaima Malik in pivotal roles. It is a reboot of the 1979 Pakitsani classic.



The story of The Legend Of Maula Jatt revolves around a prizefighter Maula Jatt (played by the Pakistani heartthrob) who is on his journey to fight against one of the dreadful, most merciless fighters, Noori Natt. It is Mahira Khan, Maula Jatt's love interest, who helps him overcome his past demons. The VFX of the movie is reportedly taken care by Brian Adler, who has alos overseen the visual effects of Hollywood superhero movies like Avatar and Avengers.

Speaking about its global success, director Bilal Lashari said, 'I'm beyond overwhelmed by the love the film has received from audiences and critics alike the world over. We are so proud that The Legend of Maula Jatt has been instrumental in putting Pakistan-made cinema on the global map as it continues to win over hearts in theaters across the world.'

The Legend Of Maula Jatt perfromed exceptionally well considering its expansive budget. The Fawad Khan - Mahira Khan starrer opened in the U.S. smashed the box office as it minted $290,000. The UK observed better numbers with $355,000. However, the movie performed best after its home ground, in the UAE by earning a whopping 515,000. It collected a total of 517,000 in Pakistan.

As for Fawad Khan, he has kept his doors open if Bollywood ever plans to call him back. He was last seen in Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil alongside Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor.
