Rajiv Thakur takes a dig at Uday Chopra, calls him `untalented`
The gossip isn`t spicy if it isn`t controversial. With Bollywood celebrities commenting about each other, this time it is comedian Rajiv Thakur who is topping the headlines after he subtly (or not-so-subtly) took a dig at actor Uday Chopra.
Thakur, a comedian who rose to fame with The Kapil Sharma Show, recently spoke about how an artist`s fate lies in the hands of the audience. He cited Chopra`s reference, who, despite his influential background in movies, couldn`t be a successful actor.
Rajiv Thakur recalls his struggling days
In an interview with Hindi Rush, the comedian recalled his initial days when he was struggling to make a place in the Indian comedy scene.
Sharing how his journey started from his hometown, Amritsar, he said, "I have always charted my own path in life, even back in Amritsar. When the auditions for Laughter Challenge opened up, I was the one who filled in Chandan (Prabhakar’s) application."

"He didn’t want to do it, but I insisted that all us friends would do it together. Even today, if I get the chance to put the spotlight on one of my friends, I take it. But only those whose talent I believe in," Rajiv further added.
He further emphasisedan artist`s talent that will take them up the ladder. He continued, "Kapil (Sharma) can take me along once or twice, but if the channel doesn’t want me, then that’s that. It took me eight years just to become a permanent member of his cast."
Rajiv Thakur takes a dig at Uday Chopra
The Kapil Sharma Show comedian further took a subtle dig at Dhoom actor Uday Chopra, who couldn`t make it big in Bollywood, despite being the son of the legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra.
"Nobody on this planet can do something for an untalented person. Look at Uday Chopra, for example. What did Yash Chopra not have? He had money, the resources, the studio, the directors… But Uday Bhai’s career as an actor wasn’t meant to happen. It’s not that he didn’t have the talent, but he had a talent for something else," Thakur said.
Rajiv further opined that one should not be stubborn to make it in a field that they weren`t meant to be in.
He continued, “What if Aditya Chopra insisted on becoming an actor? He would’ve flopped too. He was meant to be a producer and director."
"It’s not like there is just one Kapil Sharma show in the world. I’m doing my own thing as well; I’m busy with my career. If I keep putting all my eggs in the Kapil basket, there would be no bigger fool. I have so many other ways to use my talent,” Rajiv concluded.
