Ranveer Singh`s Dhurandhar crew members hospitalized in Leh for food poisoning
Imagine you`re on location in the stark, breathtaking landscapes of Leh. It`s late that Sunday evening—August 17, 2025—and suddenly, more than a hundred film crew members fall violently ill. They’re rushed to SNM Hospital, gripped by severe stomach cramps, headaches, and relentless vomiting. Panic ensues.
Around 600 people had eaten on the set of Dhurandhar, and now over 100 are indisposed. Food poisoning is swiftly confirmed. Thankfully, their conditions are stable, and most have already been discharged.
Health teams swung into action, securing food samples for analysis and calling in police to keep the crowded emergency ward from descending into chaos. It was a close call—and a sobering reminder of how vital safe catering is during on-location shoots.
The incident brings into sharp relief the challenges of mounting elaborate film shoots in remote areas. Even as cinematic teams chase breathtaking visuals, there’s no shortcut for safety.
One hopes this becomes a major wake-up call for stricter standards across the industry.
More about Dhurandhar
At its heart, Dhurandhar is rooted in real-life covert operations from the 1970s and 1980s—decades when Indian intelligence agents operated in the shadows to protect the nation.

The story follows a covert agent (portrayed by Ranveer Singh) who is sent deep into enemy territory on a perilous mission to avert a national crisis, carrying echoes of authenticity and valor. The narrative weaves clever espionage tradecraft with Shakespearean betrayals, high-stakes action, and undying patriotism.
Although it’s not officially labeled a biopic, the film is believed to draw inspiration from the life and missions of India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. R. Madhavan’s character, in particular, has fueled speculation that he may embody Doval’s persona.
Ranveer Singh in the lead—playing a gritty, damaged agent whose intense look and raw energy shift him into uncharted territory.
Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan (rumored to play an Ajit Doval-inspired character), Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, and others round out the cast.
A notable controversy emerged when netizens debated the 20-year age gap between Ranveer and Sara Arjun, with some calling their pairing “father and daughter.”
The film’s theatrical release date is locked in for 5 December 2025, strategically chosen to coincide with the holiday season.
