Deepika Padukone refuses to audition for White Lotus S4
Deepika Padukone has been one of the few Indian actresses who also made her mark in Hollywood. After her incredible stint in xXx: Return of Xander Cage, rumours of her being in the critically acclaimed series, White Lotus, were doing the rounds.
Now, speculation about her being a part of White Lotus has come to an end. The actress will no longer be a potential cast member for the series after she refused to audition for the part.
Why Deepika Padukone said no to White Lotus?
The buzz around the actress being approached for the fourth season of the Emmy-winning anthology drama, which is expected to be set in France, has been growing.
Fans were excited about the possibility of seeing the Cocktail actress in an international project once again, especially given the magnanimity of the show. However, discussions were stalled when it came to the casting process.

A source close to the development said, “Auditions are a mandatory part of the casting process for The White Lotus. The makers were very keen on auditioning actors before signing them on. Deepika was not keen on auditioning, and that was the reason why the White Lotus opportunity had to be passed.”
What remains unclear is how advanced the discussions were. Reports suggest the makers were firm about following an audition process, despite the actress`s global stature.
Deepika Padukone, who has established her image as one of India`s leading stars, declined to give an audition, leading to the talks coming to an end.
On the work front
Had Deepika Padukone gone through the audition process, White Lotus 4 would`ve marked her second international project after xXx: Return of Xander Cage.
Right now, she has some interesting Bollywood projects lined up, including Shah Rukh Khan`s King. She is also set to do an Atlee starrer alongside Allu Arjun.
For now, White Lotus 4 will move on without Deepika, but her global journey is far from over.
