It was disheartening for the millions of fans who were present at the Ahemdabad Stadium. It was even more frustrating for all the players, who did everything they could. After the match, Virat Kohli was seen on the verge of tears.

Later, his wife, Anushka Sharma, gave him a hug to console him after a record-breaking run in the World Cup season. Virat was a strong reason for winning all the matches during the tournament, and he made sure to put India on a decent score by putting 54 runs on board. After the match, the picture of Anushka consoling Virat by giving him a hug went viral.

Anushka Sharma was cheering for the team and Virat throughout the tournament, attending most of the matches. Even in the final, she was seated beside Rohit Sharma's wife, Ritika Sajdeh. All faces were visibly shattered as the game reached the finale, with Australia dominating both in batting and bowling.

Right after the match, Rohit Sharma controlled his tears and went straight for the pavillion. All the other players looked upset and heartbroken as well.

It was a star-studded affair at the final in Ahemdabad, with the presence of Bollywood actors like Shah Rukh Khan, who attended the match with their entire family. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were also seen together cheering for the team. Apart from this, Ayushmann Khurranna, Shanaya Kapoor, and Asha Bhosle were also seen in the stands.

Right after the disappointing defeat, Shah Rukh Khan wrote, "The way the Indian team has played this whole tournament is a matter of honor, and they showed great spirit and tenacity. It's a sport, and there are always bad days or two. Unfortunately, it happened today, but thank you, Team India, for making us so proud of our sporting legacy in cricket.
