After being diagnosed with Aphasia, Bruce Willis announced his retirement from acting. A condition where one loses the ability to understand or express speech, the 67-year old actor's family took to Instagram, giving out an official statement.

"As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him," read the statement. Signed by his wife Emma Heming Willis, his ex-wife Demi Moore, and his five children Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel and Evelyn - it also mentioned thatcoginitve abilities have been impacted because of aphasia.

"We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him," they further said. "As Bruce always says, 'Live it up' and together we plan to do just that."

There are several probable cause of aphasia. Some of them being a severe injury in the head, a slow-growing brain tumor or a disease that causes degenrative condition like Alzheimer's. It is treated primarily by speech therapy and non-vermal modes of communication. Willis' family did not divulge deep into the cause of his condition. When asked the representatives of the actor, they declined to comment.

One of the iconic actors of Hollywood, Bruce Willis has contributed over $5 billion in the box-office across the globe. The news of him being diagnosed with aphasia spreaded like wildfire as his fans reacted on the post, wishing him well.

Known for path-breaking movies lik 'Die Hard', 'Pulp Fiction', and 'Sixth Sense' - Willis starred in eight films last year that came and went by silently. To name some, 'Comic Sin', 'Out of Death', 'Deadlock' , and 'A Day to Die' were the movies where you can see his recent work. The actor has already shot for six new films which are due in 2022 and 2023, including 'Die Like Lovers', 'The Wrong Place', and 'Corrective Measures'.
