With the release of 'Padmavati', Shahid Kapoor will immediately begin filming for his next film, 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu', directed by Shree Narayan Singh of 'Toilet Ek Prem Kathaa' fame.Earlier speculations were rife that the movie will offer a serious take on the issue of loopholes in electricity billing systems in India. But Singh decided to adapt the similar approach of a satire which was explored with 'Toilet'. Hence the script of the new film is undergoing changes. Confirming the development, Singh asserted that changes on the script have been on-going since a month.The director also added that the film will avoid playing spoofs on renowned names in the electricity domain, but adds that his film is based on a true incident.The film will begin rolling by January 19, 2018, once the leading lady of the film is finalized. One of the names doing the rounds earlier was of Katrina Kaif's. The film is likely to be shot in the hinterlands of the country including, Mussoorie, Dehradun, Haridwar and Hrishikesh.
