Alia Bhatt`s Ex-PA Vedika Shetty Arrested in 76.9 Lakh Fraud Against the Actress

Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt is currently in the headlines, not just for her upcoming projects, but due to a significant fraud case. Her former personal assistant, Vedika Prakash Shetty, has been arrested for allegedly cheating the actress and her production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt Ltd, of a staggering ₹76.9 lakh.
The Allegations Unfold
Vedika Prakash Shetty served as Alia Bhatt`s personal assistant from 2021 to 2024, a period during which she reportedly managed the actress`s financial s, payments, and daily schedule. According to Mumbai Police, Shetty is accused of forging Alia`s signature and syphoning off funds from both Alia`s personal accounts and her production company`s funds over two years, specifically between May 2022 and August 2024. The fraud came to light when Alia`s mother, veteran actress Soni Razdan, filed a complaint in February, alleging financial misconduct.
After the complaint was filed, Vedika Shetty reportedly went missing, frequently changing her location to evade arrest. However, a team from Mumbai Police successfully tracked her down to Bengaluru. She was arrested on Tuesday, nearly five months after the initial complaint, and has since been brought before the court, which has remanded her to police custody until July 10.
The Juhu Police have booked Vedika Prakash Shetty under Sections 316(4) (criminal breach of trust) and 318(4) (cheating) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police sources indicate that they are now meticulously scrutinising her bank accounts and financial records to ascertain the full extent of the alleged fraud. As of now, Alia Bhatt or her team has not made any public comments on this matter.
